Why a Fire Pit Story Page?

Thank you for stopping by this blog. I grew up in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia and spent a lot of time camping, hiking, and fishing where there would be a campfire. As I have grown older and found friendships that are important to maintain I realized that most of what we do when we meet are tell stories. Those may be of past triumphs or failures, a funny anecdote, or even a life lesson. Through the combination of several events hosted by friends I developed the idea to begin to host fire pit stories, a whiskey tasting and a night by a fire pit.

Realizing that in a time where we could not be so much in person in how we socialize that this fire pit brought together a small community of 4 to 5 families over the course of two months. Our time together was always fun and we enjoyed good food and company.

  • I intended to build on this community by formalizing and structuring a recurring gathering around a fire pit to tell a story or two, enjoy a drink and relax.
  • I hope to begin recording these stories (well those stories we don’t mind having a permanent record of) but for now I will begin crafting my own stories to share.

I hope to share some good stories soon.
